Lippincott’s Nursing Center.com Announces Collaboration with HealthyWomen

Health care professionals gain free access to HealthyWomen's quality patient health handouts via NursingCenter.com

PHILADELPHIA, PA.Lippincott’s NursingCenter.com, a leading provider of peer-reviewed content for nursing and health professionals, is collaborating with HealthyWomen, the nation’s premier health information source for women, to expand access to HealthyWomen’s consumer and patient education materials.

Nurses, advanced practice nurses, and other health care providers will have free access to HealthyWomen's extensive collection of patient education materials via NursingCenter.com. Thousands of health care professionals visit NursingCenter.com every day to access peer-reviewed journal articles, online continuing education, the latest drug updates, job boards, and peer networking tools.

"We have a long history of providing high quality, peer-reviewed, evidence-based content for health professionals," said Lisa Bonsall, MSN, RN, CRNP, clinical editor for Nursing.Center.com. "Health care providers also need a reliable source for credible patient information, and HealthyWomen will provide the content they need in easy-to-access formats, directly on our website."

"Consumers are often overwhelmed with the huge amount of medical information available online. Since our founding more than 20 years ago, women and health care providers nationwide have come to trust HealthyWomen to address their health and wellness needs," said Elizabeth Battaglino Cahill, RN, Executive Director, HealthyWomen. "Our goal is to continue to provide health care professionals with the patient education materials they need to better educate and meet the needs of today's patients. HealthyWomen will expand access to that content by working with a wider group of health professionals, and NursingCenter.com provides the right forum to meet that goal."

Health care providers will be able to download HealthyWomen's series of Women's Health Updates and Fast Facts for Your Health directly from NursingCenter.com. HealthyWomen's Fast Facts series covers a wide array of topics ranging from joint health, to flu, to uterine fibroids. The tools and content are designed to help health care professionals effectively supplement the education and support services they provide to their patients during office visits. Each two-page summary provides information on disease diagnosis, treatment and questions to ask, and includes links to credible online sources for further research. Providers will have access to all of HealthyWomen's specialty publications and products.

As part of the collaboration, Lippincott's NursingCenter.com health writers and editors will work with HealthyWomen to create additional information tools leveraging the full range of professional health and medical content produced by Lippincott Williams & Wilkins.
