CURES 2.0 Leading Women's Health Forward

CURES 2.0

Leading Women's Health Forward

Virtual Policy Discussion

Programs

HealthyWomen’s goal of the briefing is to educate Congressional staff, HealthyWomen’s Corporate Advisory Council, federal agencies and all stakeholders in women’s health about the provisions related to patient access, caregiver resources and supports, telehealth advancement, and next steps Congress should take.

Cures 2.0 is a broad federal bill led by Representatives Diana DeGette (D-CO) and Fred Upton (R-MI). The first iteration of this bill was passed in 2016 as the 21st Century Cures Act. By the end of 2022, many of the programs that were created back in 2016 will have to be reauthorized to maintain their funding. Cures 2.0 would not only serve as the legislative vehicle to reauthorize those important programs but build on their successes as well.
