Edna Canty
Edna Canty is a journalist, professional natural hair stylist and insurance customer service representative, with additional experience in banking. With over 10 years’ experience in research, she used her research skills to become an advocate for her own health by researching current and past treatments of her medical condition, CRsWP, chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps. She developed this condition in her late 20s. Prior to having this condition she didn’t know how much a chronic condition can impact one’s quality of life, but she has now gained respect and sympathy for others who live with a chronic condition. She currently advocates, raises awareness and provides information about her condition to family and friends so they may also educate others and enable them to seek treatment to facilitate a better quality of life.
She has six children ranging in age from 28 to 5 years old — four boys and two girls. Originally from the Bronx, New York, she currently resides in a small town called Sumter, South Carolina. When she is not working you can find her in her vegetable garden, or attempting to build or reconstruct a portion of her home.
