Dr. James A. Simon is a DC-based physician providing patient-focused care for women across the reproductive life cycle, from adolescence to childbirth, and through the menopause transition. He has served as principal investigator on more than 300 clinical trials, research grants and scholarships in the area of women's health, with support from such noted institutions as the National Institutes of Health, the American Heart Association, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
Dr. Simon's work has been published extensively, and he is an active contributor to numerous medical and scientific periodicals. He currently sits on the editorial boards of Menopause, and Sexual Medicine Reviews (Associate Editor). In 2001, he coauthored the book "Restore Yourself: A Woman's Guide to Reviving Her Sexual Desire and Passion for Life," and in 2012, he was featured in the film "Hot Flash Havoc." He is a past president of the North American Menopause Society and the Washington Gynecological Society, and currently sits on the board of the International Society for Study of Women's Sexual Health (Secretary). Dr. Simon has consistently been ranked as a top doctor, both nationally and in Washington, DC.
Dr. Simon earned his bachelor's degree from Washington University in St. Louis and his medical degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago. He completed an internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at The George Washington University Hospital and a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at Harbor-University of California, Los Angeles Medical Center. He currently serves as a clinical professor of obstetrics and gynecology at The George Washington University School of Medicine.
