Jennifer Auber
Jennifer Auber grew up in Rhode Island but now divides her time between the coastal communities of Southport, Maine, and Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, drawing inspiration from the rhythms and beauty of both places. A graduate of Wheaton College in Massachusetts, she began her professional career in event planning at the San Francisco headquarters of Gap Inc., where she developed a love for bringing people together through thoughtfully designed gatherings and meaningful experiences.
After starting a family, Jennifer chose to focus her energy on raising her children while remaining deeply engaged in the communities she calls home. Over the years she has served on the boards of numerous local organizations—including her art club, yacht club, local library, Island Association, and urban agriculture initiatives—contributing her time and organizational skills to community projects, charitable fundraising efforts, and social events that foster connection and shared purpose.
After her son’s diagnosis of schizophrenia in 2020 Jennifer focused her efforts on his wellness and putting together what her family calls 'Team Grant'. Working tirelessly, not taking no for an answer and being open and honest about her family’s struggles has been her full time job since 2020.
Jennifer has always had a natural talent for creating welcoming spaces and connecting people, whether planning a fundraiser, hosting family and friends, or collaborating with community groups. Her passions include mental health advocacy and education, art, travel, hiking coastal trails, cold water dipping, cooking, and exploring interior design. These interests reflect her appreciation for ending stigma around severe mental illness, creativity, nature, and the joy of gathering people together.
Jennifer has been married 32 years to her high school sweetheart, John, and is the proud mother of two children: Grant (27), an artist and music producer, and Symmi (25), who lives and works in Australia with her partner, Joël and never far behind is her trusty four legged companion Chica.
Through family, community involvement, and a lifelong curiosity about the world, Jennifer continues to cultivate connections and experiences that enrich the lives of those around her.
