Christine Ledbetter
Christine Ledbetter is a writer and editor who retired from The Washington Post in 2018 as senior arts editor. There she managed a team of arts reporters and critics that included three Pulitzer Prize winners.
After retirement she moved to Illinois where she continues to write about arts, culture and politics.
She is a long-time feminist, who with her husband, Dean Skylar, successfully sued the state of Florida for the right to name their child a hybrid of their two last names — Skybetter — and won in a case that changed name law in that state. (Sydney v. Pingree.)
They have two children and four grandchildren.
