Taylor Heaton
Taylor Heaton is a late-diagnosed autistic mom, speaker, author and the creator behind Mom on the Spectrum, a fast-growing platform offering relatable autism education, supportive community and affirming resources for autistic adults.
Diagnosed in adulthood, Taylor launched Mom on the Spectrum in 2021 to share her journey, deconstruct harmful myths about autism, and help others feel seen — without shame, pressure to mask or deficit-based framing. What began as a deeply personal YouTube channel has grown into a global resource with more than 300,000 subscribers and followers across platforms.
Taylor’s work centers on helping autistic adults understand their nervous systems, reduce burnout and reconnect with their authentic selves. Through educational content, Connection Groups and self-paced courses on topics like masking, demand avoidance, sensory overwhelm and autistic burnout, she translates lived experience into practical tools and language that many autistic adults have never been given before.
Taylor has spoken on stages across the United States, including alongside renowned autism advocate Temple Grandin, and has appeared as both a speaker and emcee at national and community events. Her work has also been featured on platforms such as Headspace, United for Autism, the Autism Stories Podcast and the National Autistic Society.
As a single mom of two, Taylor brings both personal insight and practical compassion to her work. When she’s not creating videos or building community, she can usually be found pursuing special interests with her kids, attempting to tame her emotionally complex cat Beltre, taking salsa lessons or rotating between her many musical instruments — some of which she can actually play.
Through every piece of content and every conversation, Taylor’s message is simple: You are not broken. You are not alone. And you deserve a life that feels like home.
