Cecelia Dain
Cecelia is a 35 year old New York-based aerialist and disability inclusion professional who has spent the last decade learning how to listen to her body. She was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at age 30, a moment that reshaped her relationship with movement, strength, and self-trust.
Through aerial hammock, Cecelia found a way to reconnect with a body that often felt unpredictable. Her practice taught her to work with fluctuation rather than against it; revealing that strength can be quiet, balance can be negotiated, and rest can be an act of resilience.
Cecelia’s teacher training is in beginner aerial and circus therapy, specializing in adaptive hammock. She has practiced and trained with aerial and circus professionals across the country, from New York to California, deepening her commitment to accessible, body-aware movement practices that honor difference rather than erase it.
Professionally, Cecelia works in disability and inclusion within higher education, where she advocates for access, equity, and the belief that disabled bodies and minds are not problems to be solved, but experiences to be valued.
