Courtney Nagle, Ph.D.
Courtney Nagle, Ph.D., is an educator, researcher, and writer who is passionate about the ways people learn and connect through mathematics. With a career spanning classroom teaching, curriculum development, and professional learning, she is passionate about bridging the gap between research and practice. Courtney currently works in math publishing, where she interprets and applies educational research to support the creation of meaningful, accessible learning experiences for students and teachers. Her work is guided by a belief that mathematics should empower rather than intimidate, and that the design of resources can make a lasting difference in how learners see themselves as problem solvers.
Away from her professional life, Courtney is first and foremost a mom to two active boys who keep her grounded in the joys and challenges of everyday learning. Her older son lives with primary hyperoxaluria type 1 (PH1), a rare genetic disease, and through caring for him, Courtney has stepped into the world of rare disease advocacy. She actively supports the Oxalosis & Hyperoxaluria Foundation (OHF) and serves as a Patient Ambassador for Alnylam, working to raise awareness, foster community, and share her family’s story to help others feel less alone. Her sons have taught her resilience, patience, and the power of small victories -- lessons that echo through both her advocacy and her professional work.
Through writing, teaching, and advocacy, Courtney shares not just knowledge, but also the conviction that challenges, when met with care and curiosity, can open unexpected possibilities.
