Brian K. Iriye, MD, is a practicing perinatologist and managing partner at the Center for Maternal-Fetal Medicine in Las Vegas, Nev. He formed this practice start-up and has developed its status through multiple practice models. The Center for Maternal-Fetal Medicine is now a six- physician practice that has been Nevada’s largest volume practice for perinatology for almost a decade, with emphasis on patient care, education and clinical research. He previously was employed at the University of Nevada, School of Medicine, for two years.
Since November 2009, Dr. Iriye has served as the Chairman of the Association of Maternal-Fetal Medicine Management. In addition, he serves as a board member for several influential organizations in the maternal-fetal specialty area including the Pregnancy Foundation (formerly the Society for Maternal Fetal Medicine Foundation) and the communications committee for the Society for Maternal Fetal Medicine. He has served as the Nevada Chair of the Executive Board of the Prematurity Campaign for the March of Dimes from 2009-10. He has been recognized as a luminary for Philips Ultrasound for the last five years. In February 2011, Dr. Iriye will commence his appointment on the Board of Directors for the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine. Since 2003, he has served as a reviewer for the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Through his various roles, Dr. Iriye has experience in academic medicine, practice start-up, manager of small and moderate sized practice groups, research, education and public speaking. Previously, he graduated from the Maternal Fetal Medicine Fellowship at the University of California, Irvine, and from the gynecology and obstetrics residency at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. He received his Medical Doctor degree at the University of California, San Diego, and a Bachelor of Science from the University of California, Los Angeles.
