Bree A. Weaver, MD

Bree A. Weaver, MD, is an infectious diseases physician at Indiana University School of Medicine. She completed her undergraduate education at Southeastern Louisiana University and received her medical degree from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, School of Medicine in New Orleans. Dr. Weaver completed residency and fellowship training at Indiana University and is board-certified in internal medicine, pediatrics and infectious diseases. She joined the Departments of Medicine (Infectious Diseases) and Pediatrics (Adolescent Medicine) at Indiana University in 2010 as an Assistant Research Professor of Medicine and part-time Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine and Pediatrics. She is also an associate member of the Indiana University Melvin and Bren Simon Cancer Center’s Cancer Prevention and Control Program.

Dr. Weaver's research interests center on sexually transmitted infections, especially viral STIs (such as human papillomavirus and herpes simplex virus). Currently, she is studying the behavioral correlates of human papillomavirus in adolescents and the natural history of genital and oral human papillomavirus among adolescent males. Dr. Weaver has a has a strong commitment to helping individuals understanding STI as a way of supporting prevention, reducing stigma and living productively with chronic conditions like herpes.
