I love to stroll the aisles and see what's trending at BookExpo America (BEA), where publishers introduce their new novels, memoirs, cookbooks and nonfiction titles.

It was held in May at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City. BookCon, a similar show open to the public, is the weekend after BEA in the same venue and features entertaining programs with authors.

16 months after my son Max was born, I felt like I was finally in the clear from my diagnosis of severe postpartum depression (PPD) and anxiety. It had taken months for me to seek treatment and months to get better, but I was finally enjoying the little guy. I remember the 16 month mark because I attended a Local PPD support group, finally feeling strong enough to be around other women’s pain.

If you like "wellness travel," you'll want to book a personal or girls' getaway to Le Monastère Des Augustines, located in the historic wings of the Hôtel-Dieu de Québec monastery. I had an opportunity to visit this 17th-century cloister during the 2018 Women in Travel Summit in Quebec City this spring.

Eating healthy might seem easier said than done if you’re a really picky eater. It’s even more challenging if you don’t know how to spruce up the handful of foods you actually like. Before you give up and reach for junk food, make a list of your favorite healthy foods.

Blogger Judy Freedman shares the story of her bladder cancer diagnosis to help raise awareness during Bladder Cancer Awareness Month.

May is Bladder Cancer Awareness Month. It's time to share my personal story. Bladder cancer is the sixth most common cancer (and 11th most common for women)—a cancer I never knew existed until I was told six months ago that "you have bladder cancer." Not something I wanted to hear on the eve of my 60th birthday.

You Have Bladder Cancer
I asked my urologist Dr. F three times if he really said the "C" word. Mind you, I had never seen a urologist before.

Throughout my entire first pregnancy with my son Max, I couldn’t wait for him to come out. That big day came in the middle of the night on June 16th, 2006, and we were off to the hospital to finally meet our son.

"Current 10-year-olds may age to be 104," said Jo Ann Jenkins, CEO of AARP, as she kicked off a conversation about longevity at the 2018 AARP Disrupt Aging: The Implications of Living 100 Forum, powered by Forbes and held at the Newseum in Washington, D.C., last month.

As we chatted during our girlfriends' dinner a few weeks ago, our talk was all about travel. My friend J was getting ready to take a winter vacation to Sarasota, Florida, and planning a springtime trip to London. My friend N was debating where to take her husband for his milestone birthday.

No talk of kids or health ailments, it was all about getting away and exploring the world during life after 60 (we are all now post 60).

I love Valentine's Day and not just because it's a chance to celebrate romance. I like any excuse for a fancy dinner with the people I love.

I prefer to eat at home on Valentine's because I don't like to fight crowds. And, when we had children at home, I wanted to include them in our special meal.
