About the National Women's Health Resource Center
The
National Women's Health Resource Center (NWHRC) is the leading
health information source for women. Our mission is to empower
women to learn about their health through the variety of resources
available to them. As informed health consumers, women can take
the best care of themselves and their families and better communicate
their health care needs to their health care team.
Women
turn to the NWHRC for health information they can trust. For nearly
two decades, the NWHRC has produced reliable and objective content
reviewed and approved as medically accurate by leaders in women's
health care.
NWHRC
Services
The NWHRC provides a range of health information products and
services designed to help women make informed decisions. These
include:

A one-stop shop for trustworthy women's health information
on the Internet, the NWHRC's Web site presents more than 100
in-depth health topics hundreds of related resources. The
Web site specializes in comprehensive, but easy-to-read health
information, as well as health news, Q&A columns and other
services.

Reliable,
medically reviewed and approved health information. The
NWHRC's Women's Health Advisory Council comprises leading
national health care experts representing a broad range of
disciplines. Members ensure the medical accuracy and objectivity
of all NWHRC content, as well as provide direction for health
awareness campaigns and insight on new developments in women's
health.

The
National Women's Health Report. The NWHRC's bimonthly
newsletter for consumers and health care professionals who
care for women presents a thorough discussion of a featured
health topic using leading national women's health experts
as sources. Recent topics have included menopausal hormone
therapy; health literacy; skin health; gynecologic cancers;
heart disease prevention and interventions; and sexual health.

HealthyWomen
Take 10. Recognizing women's needs for easy-to-access
health and wellness information, this monthly e-newsletter
is devoted exclusively to nutrition, fitness and tips for
healthy living. Subscribers receive practical, lifestyle-oriented
tips they easily can work into their schedules by taking just
10 minutes for themselves each day. The NWHRC is proud to
have the Joslin Diabetes Center in Boston, affiliated with
Harvard Medical School, as our partner on the publication.

National
public education and awareness programs. The NWHRC's national
health campaigns have educated women about heart health; osteoporosis
and spinal fracture; depression; menopause and hormone therapy;
endometriosis; colon cancer awareness; nutrition; and sleep
disorders among others. Through media outreach, health messages
are broadcast in a variety of mediums and markets nationwide.

access to NWHRC's consumer information office. Women have
direct access to products and resources by calling the NWHRC
and speaking to an information specialist for personalized

Health
information publications. From two-page "Fast
Facts" on a variety of women's health topics, to
four-page "Women's Health Updates," designed
to clarify health news with specific relevance to women, and
multi-page booklets such as the Family Self-Care Handbook
that provide disease prevention and health promotion tips,
the NWHRC's publications inventory offers women and their
health care professionals health information in a variety
of formats.

National,
regional and local health resources. The NWHRC connects
women with national organizations as well as with local and
regional women's health centers providing wellness education
and clinical services.
NWHRC
Partnerships
The NWHRC regularly partners with health care professionals, nonprofit
organizations, government agencies, the media and industry. Through
these valued relationships, the NWHRC has demonstrated it can
connect women from around the country and beyond the U.S. to important
health information from a variety of sources.

Women's
Center Advisory Council. Leading women's health centers, both
freestanding and those affiliated with hospitals and health systems
throughout the U.S., comprise the Women's Center Advisory Council.
The NWHRC works with council members to develop and distribute
women's health information directly to local communities.
Consumer
Liaison Council. National advocacy organizations and associations
work with the NWHRC as members of the Consumer Liaison Council
to enhance its ability to identify key women's health concerns
and promote health awareness among women of all backgrounds and
income levels.
