Q. I've recently started running on a treadmill—one mile, three times a week. My lower legs hurt a little while running, with slight pain around my knees and ankles. Is this from adjusting to running, or do I need to reconsider my shoes or running surface? Is it better to run on a track at the local high school than my treadmill?
