Spinal Fracture Awareness Tool Kit

Did you know that you can suffer a spinal fracture and not know it?

Osteoporosis is the most common cause of spinal fractures in women. One in two women over the age of 50 will sustain an osteoporosis-related fracture in her lifetime. If osteoporosis is left untreated, multiple spinal fractures can occur over time, resulting in curvature of the spine and other progressively debilitating symptoms.

The NWHRC has created this tool kit to help you learn more about spinal fractures and what you can do reduce your risk. Here, you'll discover why it's so important to have your height measured regularly and other tips for keeping your bones fracture-free. Plus: Learn what to expect when you have a bone density test. Find answers to commonly asked questions about spinal fractures, links to trustworthy resources and lots more.
