Washington University School of Medicine Study of Bipolar Disorder
Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, and an eleven-site collaborative team of psychiatric geneticists, are conducting a four-year study sponsored by the National Institute of Mental Health. The study is attempting to identify the genetic and environmental factors that may be responsible for Bipolar Disorder. New information from the human genome project will be used to guide scientists to the genes that may influence the development of this disorder.
