Organization's Mission Statement: The Resource Entitlement and Advocacy Program (R.E.A.P.), founded in 1989 with a grant from the Auxiliary Board of Mount Sinai Hospital, provides a centralized source of information and assistance regarding applications for, and advocacy with: government entitlements; public health insurance programs (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid, Child Health Plus and Family Health Plus); other specialized programs such as Social Security Retirement and Disability, and Supplemental Security Income (SSI); EPIC; SCRIE; and home care services, etc. REAP utilizes a professional social work approach to the provision of entitlement and advocacy services. The REAP program also determines the sliding scale fee rate for those out-patients who are not eligible for any of the public health benefits.
