QCT (quantitative computed tomography)

A type of bone density test that measures bone density at the wrist (peripheral QCT) or at the spine (central QCT).

Qi

Pronounced "chee," it's a Chinese term for "vital energy" or "life force."

Qigong

Also known as qi gong (pronounced chee gong). Literally, it means energy cultivation. Qigong involves regulating the body, the mind and the breathing through breathing exercises, movement and meditation to balance and strengthen vital energy (qi or chi) in the body. It is one of the four pillars of traditional Chinese medicine; the others are acupuncture, massage and herbal medicines.
