Jet injector
A device that uses high pressure to propel insulin through the skin and into the body.
Joint
The place where two bones meet. Most joints are composed of cartilage, joint space, fibrous capsule, synovium and ligaments.
Joint replacement
Replaces a damaged joint with an artificial one. Sometimes the artificial joints wear out, necessitating additional surgery.
Juvenile macular degeneration
A type of macular degeneration that occurs in children. Also called Stargardt's disease.
Juvenile rheumatoid arthritis
A chronic arthritis of childhood that causes pain, stiffness, swelling and loss of function in the joints and may affect other parts of the body.
