Elizabeth Battaglino Cahill, RN
Executive Director
Elizabeth Battaglino Cahill, RN, brings a unique combination of sharp business expertise and, as a practicing registered nurse, medical knowledge to her role as executive director of HealthyWomen, a non-profit organization providing women with in-depth, objective, medically-approved information on a broad range of women's health issues.
Beth has worked in the health care industry for nearly 20 years, helping to define and drive public education programs on a broad range of women's health issues. These programs have run the gamut from heart health and cancers to migraines and oral hygiene. Her management and marketing expertise is particularly critical as HealthyWomen moves to expand its outreach to millions of women across the country through updated technology, wider program distribution and new public education and awareness efforts.
Beth is responsible for setting the strategic direction of HealthyWomen and building alliances with corporations, health care professionals and consumer groups. She also serves as the organization's chief spokesperson, regularly speaking at corporate, non-profit, community and media events.
In addition to her nursing degree, Beth holds degrees in political science, business and public administration.
Marisa Bushee
Director of Marketing & Communications
Marisa Bushee is a communications professional with nearly 20 years experience in strategic planning, program management and promotion, alliance building and media relations. As director of marketing and communications for HealthyWomen, she works to build partnerships and alliances to extend the reach of HealthyWomen and oversees all media outreach and promotional activities. Marisa is responsible for spearheading initiatives and managing public education programs, including those that address the specific needs of women from diverse backgrounds.
Prior to joining HealthyWomen, Marisa served as a vice president at Porter Novelli, helping clients in a variety of industries, with a specialized focus in healthcare, develop public education and consumer marketing programs that produced results. She has developed and managed strategic outreach programs for national, regional and local audiences for a variety of clients including the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids, HealthSouth, LifeBridge Health and Merck/Schering-Plough Pharmaceuticals.
Marisa received her master's degree in communications from American University and a bachelor's degree in business from Ohio State University.
Marcia Mangum Cronin
Managing Editor
Marcia Mangum Cronin brings three decades of varied editing experience to her managing editor role at HealthyWomen. She is first and foremost a professional wordsmith, always trying to ensure accuracy and clarity of content through good writing. Before joining HealthyWomen in 2005, Marcia had worked for many years as a writer, copy editor and supervising editor at newspapers (including the Los Angeles Times) and magazines. Marcia has a journalism degree from the University of North Carolina–Chapel Hill and completed some business courses at Old Dominion University. She lives with her husband and two teenaged daughters in Norfolk, Virginia.
Kristen Mucci-Mosier
Executive Editor
Kristen Mucci-Mosier brings a holistic sensibility and many years of editorial experience to her position as executive editor at HealthyWomen. Based in New York City, she is certified as a holistic health counselor, accredited by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners (AADP) and is trained in childbirth education. Additionally, her background includes editorial work at a variety of home magazines, where she learned about creating a healthy home environment. Kristen manages the day-to-day editorial functions of HealthyWomen.org and writes and edits the organization's Wellness in Practice blog.
Julie Leff Buchanan
Web Producer
Julie Leff Buchanan has been a member of the HealthyWomen staff for over three years. As web producer, she brings her Web design, coding and imaging skills to manage the technical aspects of HealthyWomen.org. Prior to joining HealthyWomen, she worked in the Web department at the Foundation Center and HarperCollins Publishers. She received her bachelor's degree in information systems management, with a specialization in Web design, from The College of New Jersey.
Kerri Agnello
Administrative Assistant
As consumer outreach coordinator for HealthyWomen, Kerri Agnello works part-time heading up such projects as health care professional bulk ordering, campaign tracking, monthly consumer reporting and direct mail campaigns. Before heading to HealthyWomen, the Rutgers University graduate worked in industrial marketing and market research.
Debra Gordon

Debra Gordon, MS, has been a journalist and medical writer for more than 20 years, the past 10 as an independent writer.
