The next time you see your health care professional, ask the following questions about your risk for metabolic syndrome and what to do if you have it:
What is my blood pressure? Is it too high?
What are my triglyceride levels? Are they too high?
Can you measure my waist circumference and let me know if it is too large?
What is my HDL level? Should it be higher?
What is my fasting blood glucose level? Should I be concerned?
Do I need to reduce my risk of cardiovascular disease and, if so, how?
Am I at risk of developing diabetes? What can I do to reduce my risk of diabetes?
I'm having problems losing weight. Is there anything you can prescribe to help me lose weight?
Should I see a nutritionist for help in revamping my diet?
