  1. How much experience do you have treating irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)? Should I see a specialist?

  2. What tests are used to diagnose IBS? Are these tests covered by my insurance?

  3. Do I need to change my diet? How?

  4. Could any of the medications I'm taking be contributing to my symptoms?

  5. Is it possible that other conditions could be causing these symptoms? Will the tests we're conducting rule out other conditions?

  6. Could certain foods be causing my symptoms? How do we find out?

  7. Are there clinical trials being conducted for IBS? Where can I find out about them?

  8. Can you give me information about IBS support groups in the area or online?

  9. What strategies can I take prior to and during my period to prevent my IBS symptoms from getting worse?
