Sexual Health Center
Welcome to the Sexual Health Center, a resource developed by the National Women's Health Resource Center for women seeking timely and trustworthy information about their sexuality and well-being.
Today, after the appearance of the little blue pill Viagra and the popularization of the term "erectile sexual dysfunction" (EDS), the topic of women's sexual health is finally beginning to get the research attention it deserves. A new diagnosis has come into play: female sexual dysfunction (FSD) and old assumptions about women's sexual health and sexual desire are being upended. One thing is certain: women's sexuality is multifaceted and affected by much more than a woman's physical state.
Visit
our Healthy
Sexuality: Ask the Experts' column featuring three leading
experts in women's sexuality. A new question and answer will
be posted each month. Consider submitting
a question of your own.
You'll
also want to explore the other topics and resources to the
left. Be sure to visit Nurture
Your Nature, a joint initiative of the National Women's
Health Resource Center and the Association of Reproductive
Health Professionals. This project aims to increase meaningful
and effective communication about sexuality between women
and their health care professionals, as well as between women
and their sexual partners.
