Intermittent claudication: A circulatory condition that results in pain, cramping or numbness in one or both legs that starts when walking and stops when resting. The pain is caused by lack of oxygen in the leg muscles, usually because of a narrowing or blockage of arteries that carry blood and oxygen to the legs.
