Capillaries: Tiny vessels that connect the tiny branches of the arteries to the tiny branches of the veins. This is where the oxygen and nutrients go out into the tissues that need them, and in return, carbon dioxide (CO2) and waste products are put in the blood to be carried back to the lungs and be exhaled or removed from the body in another way.
