Influenza season is here! Are you prepared? Influenza, better known as "the flu," is a highly contagious viral infection of the respiratory tract that can lead to serious illness and even death. Young children, elderly people and people with chronic medical conditions such as congestive heart failure, asthma or diabetes are at high risk for serious complications. According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the best protection against the flu is to get an annual flu vaccination.
