Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation has been a global leader in the fight against breast cancer through its support of innovative research and community-based outreach programs. They offer a National Toll-Free Breast Care Helpline that is answered by trained and caring volunteers and staff. The helpline is committed to providing timely and accurate information to anyone with breast health and breast cancer concerns, including breast cancer patients and their family and friends. They also offer the Linking A.R.M.S.T program where eligible breast cancer patients may receive financial assistance grants for oral cancer treatment medications, pain and anti-nausea medication, lymphedema support and supplies and durable medical equipment through a new partnership between the Komen Foundation and CancerCare.

The Web site includes online discussion boards and chat rooms and access to publications in English and Spanish including Understanding Metastatic Breast Cancer Booklet, Understanding and Reducing the Risk of Recurrence Booklet, and the Understanding and Managing Diagnosis and Treatment of Breast Cancer Kit. These free booklets are available by mail and can be ordered online via the Web site.

Living Beyond Breast Cancer, a nonprofit, educational organization committed to empowering all women affected by breast cancer to live as long as possible with the best quality of life. The Association of Cancer Online Resources is a large collection of free cancer-related Internet mailing lists. ACOR also develops and hosts Internet-based knowledge systems that allow people to find and use credible information relative to their illness. Women with breast cancer can find a list of ACOR online support groups, as well as online resources on breast cancer.

The mission of Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization is to ensure, through information, empowerment and peer support, that no one faces breast cancer alone. They provide the only hotline in the United States staffed by trained peer counselors who are breast cancer survivors. It is a convenient, anonymous resource for breast cancer and breast health information, as well as support for anyone touched by or concerned about this disease. Callers to the Y-ME Hotline can be matched with a survivor, patient and/or supporter who have had a similar experience with breast cancer. Interpreters are available in nearly 150 languages. They offer many publications on the topic of breast cancer and treatment in English and Spanish, as well as some in Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Hindi, Russian and Tagalog.
