EXCESSIVE MENSTRUAL BLEEDING TOOL KIT

You might think that a period so heavy it keeps you housebound is normal. But, it isn't. If your menstrual periods are interfering with your life, you may have a condition called abnormal uterine bleeding.

The medical term for this condition is "menorrhagia," meaning periods that are too heavy or that go on longer than the typical seven-day menstrual cycle. We just call it heavy, or excessive, menstrual bleeding. And we want you to know that it's not normal, and that you don't have to suffer.

You also are not alone. An estimated one in five women bleed so heavily during their periods they have to put their normal lives on hold. This tool kit is designed to help you understand this important health topic so that you can discuss it with your health care professional, have your condition accurately diagnosed, and decide on an appropriate treatment.
