Description of Third-Parties and Sponsorships

Healthywomen.org clearly identifies third-party sponsors throughout the site. Our sponsors include (but may not be limited to):

  1. Corporate Sponsors - These third-party sponsors provide educational grants to the NWHRC for the purpose of supporting the overall development and expansion of the site. Their names/logos rotate on every page of the site, in an area separate from health content. It is clear to consumers that support from these sponsors is in the form of educational grants, by specifically saying "Educational Grant Provided by." in this area. These logos do not offer consumers links to corporate sites.

  2. Health Content Sponsors - These third-party sponsors also provide educational grants to the NWHRC for the purpose of supporting the development of a specific content area at Healthywomen.org's Health Center. The NWHRC retains full editorial control over these content areas. Names/logos of these sponsors are placed separate from the health content, often to the left of the content within the navigation bar. It is clear to consumers that support from these sponsors is in the form of educational grants, by specifically saying "Educational Grant Provided By." in this area. These names/logos offer consumers links to corporate/brand sites. The links provided to these sites in no way implies an endorsement of the company/organization nor its content, products, therapeutic treatment options, or services. When you leave the healthywomen.org site to visit these sponsor sites, healthywomen.org retains no control over the policies and practices of these sites, nor can NWHRC be responsible for their policies and practices.

Exclusivity is not offered to sponsors within content areas. Regardless of whether a content area has none, one or multiple sponsors, information provided to the consumer is presented in a comprehensive and unbiased fashion.

  3. Other Sponsorship Opportunities - NWHRC offers third-party sponsors the opportunity to support other programs and activities at Healthywomen.org through educational grants. These include, but are not limited to: the development of subdomains, chats, moderated discussions, surveys, events, continuing medical education, consumer outreach programs, and more. In these instances, healthywomen.org clearly identifies the third-party sponsor (keeping its name/logo separate from content), and retains full editorial control over content.

  4. Promotion of NWHRC Campaigns/Programs on Home Page - Through educational grants, NWHRC national public education initiatives and programs are often supported by third-party sponsors. As part of the grant, NWHRC may promote the program on its home page within a rotating banner. The banner will provide the consumer with a link to a page describing the program, identifying the third-party sponsor, and may include a link to the sponsor's site. The link in no way implies an endorsement of the sponsor, its content, products, services, or therapeutic treatment options. When you leave the healthywomen.org site to visit these sponsor sites, healthywomen.org retains no control over the policies and practices of these sites nor can NWHRC be responsible for the policies and practices of these sites.

  5. Health Information Developed and Sponsored by Third Party - In the event that the NWHRC posts information at its site that has been developed and sponsored by a third party, the health information sponsor will be clearly identified for the consumer (in an area separate from the health content).

The NWHRC will clearly delineate for the consumer information that is co-branded between the NWHRC and a third party.
