Partners for Understanding Pain is a consortium of more than 65 professional and consumer organizations including the NWHRC that have an interest in chronic and acute pain. It is dedicated to raising awareness about chronic, acute, and cancer pain through community outreach and a national media campaign. Partners' goals also include building a more comprehensive network of knowledge and better utilizing existing resources about pain management among its members. The convener is the American Chronic Pain Association, www.theacpa.org.
In 2003, the NWHRC became a working partner with Lippincott, Williams & Wilkins, a leading international publisher of professional health information for physicians, nurses, specialized clinicians and students. Health Care Professionals
The NWHRC helps health care professionals educate their female patients about a wide array of women's health concerns. By offering patients copies of our award-winning publication, the National Women's Health Report, custom publications such as the Guide to Uterine Health, and directing women to our toll-free hotline and web site, health care professionals can effectively supplement the education and support services they provide to their patients.
