Johnson & Johnson

Organization's Mission Statement: As the world's most broadly based healthcare corporation, Johnson & Johnson brings commitment and expertise to women's health needs across a wide range of diseases, conditions, and concerns. Ours is the largest and most diverse women's healthcare products portfolio of any company in the world. Women's health has long been a priority at Johnson & Johnson and it is one of our "platforms for growth". We provide products that range from personal care needs such as contraception, sanitary protection, skin care and hygiene to serious conditions including breast cancer, heart disease and uterine disorders. Pioneering in women's health and personal care is not new to Johnson & Johnson. We have been at it since 1927 when we introduced the first sanitary protection products. We introduced the first contraceptive for women in the U.S. in 1931 and subsequent products such as treatment for vaginal yeast infections and for the prevention of surgical adhesions following gynecologic pelvic surgery. More recently, we have introduced technology based products for less invasive breast biopsies, hysterectomies, and the removal of uterine fibroids.

In just the past year, we have launched an innovative, minimally invasive surgical treatment for correcting urinary stress incontinence, a soy menopausal supplement and bone health supplement from our personal products company, a unique and refillable dispenser for oral contraceptives that resembles a women's make-up compact, and an entirely new cosmetic line from Neutrogena cosmetics.

Johnson   Johnson has been investing more than two billion dollars annually in research and development and a significant percentage impacts women's health. Johnson & Johnson companies with women's health products include: Ortho-McNeil Pharmaceutical, Inc., Personal Products Company, Ethicon, Inc., Ethicon Endo-Surgery, Inc., Neutrogena Corp., Ortho Dermatological Corp., McNeil Consumer Health Care, Johnson & Johnson Consumer Products Company, Ortho Biotech, DePuy, Lifescan, and Janssen Pharmaceutica.
