Nancy Glick

As an Executive Vice President within Ruder Finn Washington's health care practice, Nancy Glick serves as the Director of Health and Nutrition Affairs for the firm. She brings to Ruder Finn a wealth of experience in all aspects of health care and food/nutrition communications, public policy and issues management. Her areas of specialty in the health care and food/nutrition arena include biotechnology, disease prevention and health promotion, cancer policy, obesity management, women's health, elder care, community health, food safety and nutrition education.

Prior to joining Ruder Finn in 2001, Nancy served in a variety of positions at Hill and Knowlton, Inc., over two ten-year periods. Most recently, she served as Senior Counselor for Health, Nutrition and Consumer Issues and was responsible for developing and executing public relations and public affairs programs that increased public awareness of disease prevention and health promotion, cancer communications, women's health concerns, food safety and better nutrition. During her second "tour" at Hill and Knowlton, from 1991 to 2001, she developed industry programs on such topics as weight management, cancer survivorship, UV radiation, rheumatoid arthritis, women's health, improved maternal and child health, injury prevention, safe food handling, and calcium and bone health.

Previously Nancy served as a press officer at the Food and Drug Administration where she handled food, cosmetics, drugs and consumer issues and agency announcements about product recalls. Earlier, Nancy served for four years in the Office of Consumer Affairs as the speechwriter and deputy press director for Virginia Knauer, special assistant to the President for Consumer Affairs. As a former press officer, she maintains ongoing contact with the Washington press corps. She also maintains ongoing relations with national consumer and senior citizens groups, developing partnerships on health-related issues.

A journalism graduate of Boston University's School of Communication, Nancy was recognized for excellence by the Public Relations Quarterly, and was listed as one of PRQ's "PR Superstars." Nancy is also active in several professional societies and health organizations. Currently, she serves on the board of the National Women's Health Resource Center, the Food Institute and the Friends of the World Food Programme. A former member of the board of the National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship, Nancy also serves in an advisory capacity to the Washington, DC, chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and the National Rehabilitation Hospital and is a principal of the Council for Excellence in Government.
