Teresa A. Hubka, DO, FACOOG Dist., FACOG
Teresa A. Hubka, DO, FACOOG (Dist.), FACOG, CS, is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology. She is Medical Director of Practice Affiliates in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Family Medicine. She is affiliated with Swedish Covenant Hospital; Vanguard University of Chicago, Weiss Memorial Hospital; and Mercy Hospital and Medical Center, all in Chicago, Illinois.
Dr. Hubka is an associate clinical professor and chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Midwestern University in Chicago, where she is also residency program director for obstetrics and gynecology. Additionally, she is Associate Clinical Professor, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, at Des Moines University, Osteopathic Medical Center in Iowa, and is an associate professor and clinical faculty in the OB/GYN department at the University of Illinois–Chicago.
She is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is on the board of trustees for the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists and was vice president in 2008–2009. Other memberships in professional organizations include American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the American Academy of Osteopathy, the American Osteopathic Association, Osteopathic Political Action Committee, American Osteopathic Foundation, the Association of American Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine, American Association of Osteopathic Postgraduate Physicians, American College of Physician Executives. American Medical Women's Association, National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners, Illinois Osteopathic Medical Society, Iowa Osteopathic Medical Association and Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons of California. She has held numerous offices in those organizations and received many awards, including AOA Mentor of the Year and IOMS Physician of the Year.
Dr. Hubka has published many women's health articles in the American Osteopathic Association's Journal, Women and Wellness.
She received her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from the University of Osteopathic Medicine & Health Sciences, Des Moines, Iowa, and did postdoctorate work at Midwestern University, where she is currently a COSTIN Scholar. She completed her residency at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago and did her internship at Atlantic City Medical Center/Mainland Hospital in Atlantic City, New Jersey. She holds a master's in biology and clinical nutrition from the University of Bridgeport, Connecticut, and is a registered dietitian. Her undergraduate degree is in nutrition science and biochemistry from the University of California, Davis.
